Learn about ospreys, known as “fish hawks,” with Greg Kearns, senior naturalist at Patuxent River Park. About 25% of ospreys in the U.S. nest around Chesapeake Bay. These birds faced significant declines in the 1950s and 60s due to DDT pesticide use. Kearns will cover osprey biology, his public banding program, reintroduction efforts, and how this endangered bird became a conservation success.
